Graduate Students – Free Child Wellness Day: October 26, 2012

Child Wellness Day

Friday  October 26th  10:00 am – 4:00 pm

Venue: Purdue Village Community Center

Our 4 th Child Wellness Day will take place on Friday, October 26 from 10 AM – 4 PM in the Purdue Village Community Center. These events are a collaborative effort between several University and community agencies including the School of Nursing, North Central Nursing Clinics, Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences, College of Pharmacy, and the Tippecanoe County Health Department.

Many primary and preventive services are offered such as physical exams, immunizations, hemoglobin, lead, and hearing screens, and health and safety education. In the local healthcare market, the cost of these services would cost several hundred dollars per child, but we offer them to the children at no charge. Although many graduate students purchase health insurance for their children (in fact, international students are required to do so), there are limits in the plan and some services may not be covered in full. By offering this event, we provide easy access to high quality care without any worries about how to pay for these important services.
