Discovery, Engagement And Learning (DEAL) Grant Competition
Overview
The aim of the Purdue Graduate Student Government (PGSG) Discovery, Engagement And Learning (DEAL) Grant Competition is to provide support to teams of graduate students at Purdue University (West Lafayette Campus) by helping them obtain funding to pursue research paths in order to enhance campus and community life and improve the graduate students’ professional development. The DEAL Grant Committee offers monetary assistance by helping fund specific research initiatives and ideas. These funds have been made available annually by the Purdue University administration; therefore, preference will be given to proposals that demonstrate benefit to the campus or community of Purdue University, West Lafayette and support the mission and strategic plan of Purdue University, West Lafayette and the Purdue University Graduate School.
Awards will be made up to $2500 per research team. These are one-year awards and are available for full-time master’s and doctoral students at the Purdue-West Lafayette Campus who are in good standing with the graduate school. Each research team will be made up of three to four graduate students, where at least two of the students are from different departments or interdisciplinary programs, as well as a faculty member who will serve as a project advisor and help oversee expenditures.

Grants will be reviewed in Spring 2013

The completed two-page cover page should be scanned in and sent along with the grant application to deal.grants@gmail.com. In the subject please include the title of grant proposal and in the body of the email please include the names, email addresses and departments of the team members and indicate a point contact person for any necessary correspondence. All team members will receive an email that the cover page and application have been received. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.
