2008 Reunion Gallery

Western High School Class of 1968, Russiaville Indiana @ the 40th class reunion
-- 33 classmates were able to make a showing -- at least that's how many made it
in the picture above!! It all took place at Camp Tycony
in Kokomo, Indiana on July 12, 2008. Some of us even took a tour of the
old high school building -- thanks John Davis (WHS 1965), married to Marcheta Kuhns,
for the tour + thanks Terry Steiner (WHS 1967), married to Joyce Payne, for the class group picture! Special thank yous
to Julie Anger-Whitehouse & Mark Thatcher for being co-coordinators of the event
+ all those others who assisted greatly -- you know who you are!!! Can you
figure out who's who above?!?
I know there will probably be a 50 year reunion (2018), but I have also heard talk
about one in another five years (2013) -- so keep in contact

We were born to mothers who smoked and drank {NOT mine,
NOT ALL!!}
Our cribs were covered in lead based paint
No child proof lids, no seat belts in cars
Rode bikes with no helmets and still here we are, still here we are
We got daddy’s belt when we misbehaved
Had three TV channels you got up to change
No video games and no satellite
All we had were friends and they were outside, playin’ outside
Chorus
It was a different life
When we were boys and girls
Not just a different time
It was a different world
School always started the same every day
The pledge of allegiance then someone would pray
Not every kid made the team when they tried
We got disappointed and that was all right, we turned out all right
Chorus
Bridge
No bottled water, we drank from a garden hose
And every Sunday, all the stores were closed
Chorus
Chorus
It was a different world

Live Like You Were Dying
Back When, Tim McGraw

Don't you remember
The fizz in a pepper
Peanuts in a bottle
At ten, two and four
A fried bologna sandwich
With mayo and tomato
Sittin' round the table
Don't happen much anymore
We got too complicated
It's all way over-rated
I like the old and out-dated
Way of life
Chorus
Back when a hoe was a hoe
Coke was a coke
And crack's what you were doing
When you were cracking jokes
Back when a screw was a screw
The wind was all that blew
And when you said I'm down with that
Well it meant you had the flu
I miss back when
I miss back when
I miss back when
I love my records
Black, shiny vinyl
Clicks and pops
And white noise
Man they sounded fine
I had my favorite stations
The ones that played them all
Country, soul and rock-and-roll
What happened to those times?
I'm readin' Street Slang For Dummies
Cause they put pop in my country
I want more for my money
The way it was back then
Chorus
Give me a flat top for strumming
I want an ol' wurly hummin'
Just keep it coming
The way it was back then
Chorus
