    The PLA student Symposium 2010 endeavors to provide undergraduate, graduate, and post-doctorate researchers from various linguistic fields opportunities to interact with those both inside and outside their respective disciplines. This year, in addition to the Saturday paper sessions, we will also host workshops that Friday on disciplines in linguistics.

    Special Session: Language Diversity
    What can language diversity reveal about the universal human capacity for language? What are issues that arise in field research when multiple languages and cultures meet? How does language documentation of relatively unknown languages contribute to theoretical frameworks? The special session aims to address some of these questions from theoretical and experimental viewpoints. We are especially interested in hearing papers on a variety of linguistic subfields on the topic of language diversity and less commonly known languages. The special session will be followed by a general discussion.

    We invite submissions for abstracts for 20-minute presentations in any area related to linguistics, including, but not limited to:
