liminal

Andy Bieberich
liminal- Etymology: Latin limin-, limen threshold. 1 : of or relating to a sensory threshold. 2 : barely perceptible. Liminal is a show that draws on both my 10+ years of collecting noise art and electronica and the constant influx of downloaded live sets available from friends of mine in various walks of the techno/noise/ambient universe. Genres are ever more blurred these days, but to characterize the show you will hear glitch hop, ambient sound of various types (drone, Instinct Ambient series, etc.), minimal, IDM, 90s hard techno, 90s jungle, acid techno, what my friend ysp calls "baby-makin' house", electro, and then artists who are nearly genres unto themselves such as Aphex Twin, Autechre, and Ryoji Ikeda. I call the show "Liminal" both in remembrance of a particular crowd of people (and one of the parties that they threw here) and because the sounds involved are sometimes subtle, requiring careful listening in order to distinguish the detailed efforts of the composers. Not so much for the jungle and hard techno, but sometimes even in those tracks as well. Other times I just try to knock the dust off your speakers.

Positron Uprising

Marlo & Mike
Smash your radio every Friday night from 8 to 10ish with a hxc mix of folk-electronic-punk-world-ska-postrock-metal madness. Nowhere else will you find such an eclectic mix of the fabulously bad and the bodaciously good. Your hack DJs Marlo (disk-spinning) and Mike (knob-twirling) are here to incite a riot in your music tastes. Bottom line: are you a bad enough dude to join the revolution? Screw the rules. We have remixes!

This Show Should Be Played Loud

Alex Lipka
This Show Should Be Played Loud: An Analysis of Blues, Classic Rock, and Modern Rock Basically, I play whatever I feel like playing, and this tends to be blues (Howlin Wolf, Taj Mahal, Robert Johnson), classic rock (Beatles, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, early Bowie), or good rock from 1980 - present (Guns n Roses, Stone Temple Pilots, Queens of the Stone Age, Velvet Revolver). I also usually end up telling some tidbits about the songs I play. Once in a blue moon, I will have a guest on my show and interview them. If there is a good football game, or if I am out of town during that weekend, I may play a rerun.

Auto DJ

Auto DJ
This show represents when the automated system is playing content while other shows are off the air or no DJ is in the studio.

Generation X

John O.
Back in the days when compact discs were new, MTV actually played music, and, thankfully, disco had been banished, great music arrived from the likes of Billy Joel, The Police, The Cars, Madonna, Phil Collins, The Bangles, U2, and Chicago. It continued through the latter years of the 20th century and into the new millennium with music from Tears for Fears, Seal, R.E.M., Sheryl Crow, Sarah McLachlan, Alanis Morissette, and Jewel. John O brings you pop/classic rock from the Reagan and Clinton eras along with interviews and discussions on topics for the 30something and 40something crowds. If you're under 30, you might not understand ... because this is Generation X.

I'm Flora Delaterre, plant detective. Plants are my beat; phytomedicinals (medicinal compounds from plants) are my specialty. On each episode of my show, I investigate one plant and its medicinal compounds, benefits, efficacy, risks, or lore. My investigations take me around the globe, from Sri Lanka to Siberia, from the Appalachian Mountains to the rainforests of the Northwest, from research laboratories to your backyard.

Together 1134 has produced a number of different compilations, artist works and events. Catch22 still can be heard around the world in various atmospheres. 1134 has made its\' stamp not only with music, but t-shirt and stickers are still heavily spread across the country. Catch22\'s original and smart track selection will touch the not only the oldest junglist, but also the new generation of listeners. Starting with nothing but a single keyboard, Dj Schmotz takes pride in writing, composing, and mixing his own music. From the suburbs of Detroit, Dj Schmotz originally started writing music under the name “YouGotSchmotz.” With a tiny fan base “YouGotSchmotz” produced music that was well known as Trance music instead of dance or techno music. It wasn’t until the summer of ’08 that Dj Schomtz was created with the purchase of two turntables and two mixers from a local music outlet. Ever since then Dj Schmotz has been writing music and then mixing them together to create the beats and melodies we have today.
