Purdue 360 is a new and exciting event that will be taking place April 1-5 on Purdue’s campus. The purpose of the event is to bring together many of the unique organizations and perspectives on campus. This will be done through collaboration, experience, and active learning.
The event will feature themed days relating to different topics in diversity such as culture, religion, philanthropy, entertainment, and sport. The event will feature speakers Tommie Smith and TJ Leydon who will encourage tolerance and acceptance. Tommie Smith was a track Olympian while TJ Leydon is an ex Neo-Nazi skinhead who has been featured in Time Magazine and on the History Channel. During the week there will be a handball tournament and sport demonstrations sponsored by co-recreational sports as well as movie and trivia nights. University Residence’s Dining Services and Purdue Memorial Union restaurants will feature international cuisine on the menu that week. The final event will be a talent show called Purdue’s Got Talent to feature the best talent from a variety of perspectives on Purdue’s campus. This event’s campus wide scope will help to unify many of the diverse areas on campus and feature the fantastic talents that Boilermakers have to offer.
Purdue 360 will be a great opportunity to learn more about opportunities and people who are at Purdue. By uniting many perspectives we hope that the event will educate and inspire.
