Michael is a former member of the Purdue Bass Fishing Club. He served as the President of the club for two years, in 2000 and 2001. During his presidency, the club won the 2000 Old Minnow Bucket tournament at Monroe Lake and the 2000 Big Ten Championship at the Madison Chain in Wisconsin. Following his years at Purdue, Michael went on to guide on Lake Lanier and do seminars, talk radio shows, and local television shows in Georgia. He later became a lure designer and did promotions for SPRO Corporation, working with anglers such as Dean Rojas, Roland Martin, and Bill Siemantel. In 2006, with the help of one of his sponsors, Yamaha, he decided to fish the FLW Series where he spent his rookie year. He also went to work for Shakespeare (Pflueger, All-Star, X-Tools) in Columbia, SC doing TV Shows and generating articles with Outdoor Writers and working with Editors all over North America. In 2007, Michael will fish the FLW Tour, FLW Series - BP Eastern, and the Stren Series – SouthEast. He will be running the Slim Jim Boat in 2007.
