Spring Season Off to a Start

    2017-04-03 22:00:00

Purdue Crew enjoyed a productive week in Clemson, SC to start of the spring season strong. Each squad, both novice and varsity left Clemson in mid March with faster boats and stronger rowers. Thank you Purdue Alumni of South Carolina for graciously providing a refreshing ice-cream treat during the middle of our training!

A week after returning from spring break the team kicked off our string of regattas with the Marietta vs. Purdue Dual at Eagle Creek in Indianapolis. Notre Dame and Cincinnati raced as well. All squads showed some promising performances on the water that weekend.

Just four days after two varsity men's eights and a varsity women's eight along with a women's four left for San Diego, CA for the Crew Classic on Mission Bay. Not only did the squad enjoy weather far warmer and sunnier than that of Indiana's, they also put down some great racing on the salty waters. The varsity women's eight finished 5th in their grand final as well as the women's four in their final. On the men's side the varsity eight closed the weekend out with 4th in the petite final ahead of UCLA and Vanderbilt. While the lightweight 8 finished 3rd in their grand final just seconds behind a fast MIT. We want to thank the Purdue Alumni of San Diego for their support and hospitality on the west coast during our visit!

    Purdue Crew Row-A-Thon

    2017-01-29 18:00:00

It is that time of the year again for Purdue Crew's Row-A-Thon! Every February Purdue Crew holds our annual Row-A-Thon at the Tippecanoe Mall in a joint effort to raise money for both the team and Lafayette Urban Ministries (LUM). Each year Purdue Crew provides one of the largest donations of the year to LUM. LUM uses the funds raised to help families in need pay for their housing and bills were they would otherwise be forced to live on the streets. You can read more about the Row-A-Thon efforts and LUM here: Lafayette Urban Ministries

Also, tune into WLFI TV 18's morning show on Monday January 30th, 2017 at 6:50am to hear our head coach speak about the importance of our effort.

Purdue Crew along with Lafayette Urban Ministries would love for you to donate! Donations may be made online by following the "Donate to Row-A-Thon" button at the top of our homepage, or following this link: Donate to Row-A-Thon
