This past weekend (Friday 5/13 - Saturday 5/14) Purdue Crew saw some success in Philadelphia, PA at this years Dad Vails regatta. As each boat fought hard to make their way onto the medal dock at the end of grand finals three squads eventually did medal.

The Women's Varsity Lightweight 4+ secured the silver medal in their grand final. The squad which included coxswain Abigail Tighe, Melissa Kubacki, Laura Tyler, Claire Tighe, and Rachel White beat out a fast MIT four for the silver. The women brought another medal home in the shell named "Lonni D Kucik" which has yet to go home without one.

Coxswain Amanda Putz, along with lightweights James O'sullivan, Colton Richards, Matt Hinds, Caleb Corey, Aaron Clauss, Keegan Sullivan, James Cotter, and Christopher Von Hoene brought a bronze medal win back to Purdue. The lightweight 8+ secured their bronze into the halfway point of their race beating SUNY Geneseo and Georgia Tech. A fast Mercyhurst and Delaware lightweight boat raced in a league of their own for the gold.

The last medal brought back to Purdue was a bronze secured by the Men's Novice Heavyweight 8+ B boat. Coxswain Payten Keffaber, and rowers Grant Cawi, Jack Shirocky, Kevin Green, Stephen Clare, Matt Deaton, Brenden Doherty, Pat Pasa, and Stephen O'Grady beat out Michigan and Michigan State for the third place finish.

Congratulations to all the finishers and all the rowers for their hard work! Thank you to all the parents and alumni for their support! As always Purdue Crew appreciates every bit of support we receive.

As Dad Vails wraps up the regular season for the team and some rowers travel back home for the summer the rest of the team will be at the ACRA championships May 28th & 29th. Be sure to keep updated on the teams success in Gainesville, GA.
