The Purdue University Meteorological Association, or PUMA, has been active since 1993, and is not only an offical Purdue club, but is also an official student chapter of the American Meteorological Society. Our main purpose has been to serve the undergraduate atmospheric science students at Purdue university, and to not only provide opportunities for both professional and academic growth, but also to provide opportunites for social interaction (cause talking to people is always good!).
However, we are not an exclusive organization, and will gladly take anyone who has the slightest curiosity for the weather (severe or not), climate, the atmosphere, oceans, or any other large, complex fluid body that is located on an oblate sphereoid spinning around in circles, while revolving around a star which is in turn revolving around the center of the galaxy, which is also moving. If you would like to know more, dont hesistate to contact us. Have a great day!
