So what are we all about?
Every
year, College Republicans from all across America join together to help
elect Republican candidates, support the Republican agenda, and become
the future leaders of the conservative movement. Our efforts—whether
disseminating campaign literature, canvassing neighborhoods, placing
lawn signs, or calling voters—make the difference in Republican
victories and drive our party forward. For many students, campus
activism is their gateway into the Republican Party. Our goal is to
build and foster lifelong allegiance with the party and the
conservative movement for college students.
We reconize the need for a youth voice within the party. The Purdue University College Republicans stand for the promotion and support of the Republican Party. We organize events and speakers to raise awareness of Republican ideals and generate support for our local and national leaders.

The first College Republican chapter was founded as the American Republican College League on May 17, 1892 at the University of Michigan. The organization was spear-headed by law student James Francis Burke, who would later be elected from the state of Pennsylvania to the United States House of Representatives. The first nationwide meeting of College Republicans brought out more than 1,000 attendees where then- Ohio Governor and future President William McKinley gave a rousing keynote speech encouraging youth participation in the Republican Party. |
