The flagship journal of the Regional Science Association International (RSAI)
was established in 1955, and covers the multidisciplinary field of regional science that unites economists, geographers, planners and transportation engineers working on spatial issues. The journal has a print-run (including electronic access) of over
3,500 copies, and is distributed worldwide.
Papers in Regional Science is the oldest regional science journal around, and ranks second on a list of 13 regional science journals in terms of citations between 1982 and 2002, receiving 23% of a total of over
30,000 citations. The journal has an impact factor of 0.52
in 2007.
