Archive of Class Blogs and Sites Spring
2006:
(I will keep these on as long as I can)
This page will be your main
resource for this class. There will be links to all of our newsletters
and assignments as well as links to the class blog and all of the
student's individual blogs and web sites.
Class Blog -
Our class blog will be a place that has lessons, examples, and
discussions related to our projects.
Bloglines
is a great website that will keep track of
all of the blogs that you want to visit often. You can enter in all of
your classmates blog addresses and just go back to that site to see if
anyone has updated their blogs rather than going to each one, separately.
Learning resources:
One of our main goals in the G.E.R.I.
program is to teach students to be self-directed learners. Purdue's
Three Stage Model calls for the teachers to be facilitators to student's
learning rather than the old-fashioned type of teacher that stands up in
front of the class and lectures. Below are links to sites that will
teach you how to make web sites. Please feel free to use them and move
ahead at your own pace. If you can not access your Purdue file directory
from home, you can still practice on your computer then apply the
knowledge once you arrive to class on Saturdays.
ACCESSING YOUR DIRECTORY FROM HOME -
{UPDATED} This is a relatively easy way of
accessing your files. You can also use this to load picture files, etc
to your account rather than using CD, flash drive or email. BE SURE TO
READ THE WARNING about editing your web pages on your home computer and
then uploading them- they will get messed up in the transfer. You can,
however, make web pages, upload them to your account, and then fix them
when you get here. If you do choose to do that, don't make any internal
links on those pages. You will probably have to re-apply your theme to
each page- sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Here is the
program.
