The extension programming is largely focused on two general areas: youth education (K-20+) and wildlife conservation.

The Nature of Teaching

Rod Williams co-developed an extension program called The Nature of Teaching. The course consists of classroom-based activities where licensed teachers may do the following:

  • discuss pre-designed lesson plans
  • develop original lesson plans
  • participate in outdoor activities that enhance their knowledge of natural resources
Please visit our website to obtain lesson plans, post on our nature blog, and view our wildlife pictures.

Peer-reviewed Extension Publications

I have developed a service learning course that provides undergraduates an opportunity to develop and implement educational programs to local elementary schools, while simultaneously providing an invaluable service to the community. Many of the publications below have stemmed from these undergraduate collaborations.
