Orlando innamorato is one of the main sources of The Chronicles of
Narnia. No
other work in world literature so captures the spirit of epic, romance, and
fantasy as this once famous fifteenth-century Italian masterpiece. Charles
Ross went to Harvard, where he discovered the writings of C. S. Lewis. Lewis
discusses Boiardo in his first book, The Allegory of Love. This translation took twelve years to complete. It was first published by the University California Press, then by Oxford University. The current Parlor Press edition includes maps and notes from both previous editions. |
