Resilience: Rebuilding (in) New York

We take the City of New York as our example and model for re-building and re-imagining the University as a site of resilient action. As we make pilgrimage to Ground Zero, we see a city renewed, its citizens united and defiant, economy and culture both booming and blooming. Families are moving into the city center. Neighborhoods thrive. And New York is a shining example of resilience in the face of challenge.

This year in New York, we gather to consider the progress and purpose of a city triumphantly renewed with purpose and vigor, to consider the University as a city of knowledge challenged by political, economic, and cultural forces. The Association of Teachers of Technical Writing (ATTW) invites you to register and attend the 10th Annual Conference in New York.

Thank you to all presenters and attendees. The 2007 ATTW Conference was a success because of your participation.

There is also an alphabetically arranged list of presenters and session chairs available here.

Technology

Conference planners expect to provide digital projectors with standard LCD connectors at 800x600 resolution (Remember your plugs and connectors!). The Program Chair has asked session chairs to communicate with individual presenters and plan for technology needs -- please make arrangements to share laptops and/or transfer technology before arriving in New York if possible. While there is some time in the schedule for technology transitions, presenters can help move the schedule along smoothly by discussing technology needs and expectations with their co-presenters. Internet connections will not be provided, although the Hilton will provide wireless internet connectivity for a daily use fee. Contact the Hilton directly for more information if an internet connection is necessary for your presentation.
