As a senior, I was elected treasurer of the organization. It was an exhausting but rewarding job. As a treasurer, not only did I take care of my duties, but I got involved in each and everyone of the activities. I joined the community service committee, the outreach committee, I helped the president in everything she asked for. In addition to this, I went to the SHPE conference where I was interviewed by several companies...SHPE has without a doubt become a part of who I am and who I will be. I'm not speaking just about my professional development, but also about my cultural development. I love SHPE. Everything about it! It is because of this that I plan on continuing my high activity level on this organization now as a graduate representative.

  • As a freshman, SHPE was a great opportunity to make new friends and participate in the yearly indoor soccer tournament. Once in the society, I started receiving benefits and making important contacts. This proved that the mission and vision of SHPE were not only words. Now that I am a senior, I work as part of the ET to improve Purdue’s Chapter so that the SHPE members receive all the benefits SHPE has to offer.
