Find more information about our officers and their role at Purdue SHPE. In this section you will find both the contact information and description of the responsibilities for each one of our executive and committee leaders.

Executive Team

President

Duties:
To preside over all Executive and General meetings.

To ensure that all activities and/or other functions are managed properly under the guidelines of the Constitution and Bylaws, and the policies of Purdue University.

The President shall have the authority to delegate assignments as needed.

To be official spokesperson and facilitator for all internal and external affairs on behalf of SHPE-Purdue.


Vice-President

Duties:
To assist the President in his/her duties and responsibilities.

To assume the duties of the President in his/her absence.

To act as a liaison between The Executive Team and BOT.


Treasurer

Duties:
To ensure that all of the financial dealings of this Organization are in accordance with Purdue University regulations.

The collection of all authorized fees, dues, and receivables of this Organization.

The disbursement of all proper and authorized payments from the funds of the Organization.

The maintenance of an accurate and timely accounting record of all of the finances of the Organization.

The immediate report to the Executive Team and faculty advisor (s) of any discrepancies in the financial records of the Organization.

To report, upon request from the Executive Team or faculty advisor(s), the financial state of the Organization and to produce records which support that report.

Duties:
To maintain an accurate record of all regular and special meetings and activities of the general membership.

To ensure that all regular, special, or temporary teams maintain an accurate record of their meetings and activities.

To ensure that all correspondence of the Organization is authorized and of professional quality.


Student Representative

Duties:
The establishment and/or maintenance of a list of the active membership of this Organization.

To ensure that the membership remains faithful to the Constitution and Bylaws and that the purposes of the Organization are fulfilled.

To make known, to the best of his/her ability, the purposes of this Organization to members and non-members alike.

To establish a method to determine if members are in good standing according to guidelines stipulated in Article III, Section III.

Academic and Athletic Competitions

Duties:
Search for sports activities going on and organize diverse teams.

Participate in Academic competitions on campus and those organized by Region VI and SHPE National such as Rube Goldberg, Engineering Olympiad, NTCC Competition, Midwest Expo, Technical Paper Contest among others.

Plan other activities for the members to participate.


Award's Banquet

Duties:
Organize the Awards Banquet and all its aspects (from finding the place for the event and preparing a menu to make sure that all the guests for the Banquet feel comfortable and find it interesting).

Community Service

Duties:
To Connect SHPE members to the community in the form of community service projects so that SHPE members can be more involved in the greater West Lafayette community.


Corporate Representative

To solicit contributions from Corporate America and keep constant communication with present and future sponsors.

To act as a liason between the corporate sponsors and the organization.

Graduate Representative

Duties:
To increase the involvement of Graduate Students and Alumni with the chapter.

To plan attending to seminars and workshops of interest for the Graduate Students.

To organize professional seminars, and the introduction to the Grad Students of companies through Job Fairs and other activities.


Grand Prix

Duties:
Find members who want to be involved in the Grand Prix.

Work with the team on the preparation of the Go-Kart.

Complete the Registration for the Grand Prix.

Choose a Pit crew and a Driver for the Race.


Historian

Duties:
Keep a log of every activity by attending to all and taking pictures in order to prepare a scrap book/photo album of all the activities throughout the year.

Responsible of all the slide or video shows needed for any activity.


Membership Development

Duties:
Organize professionalism seminars, workshops, resume critiques and mock interviews to help the members develop their skills as an Engineer.

Find guest speakers for the General Meetings to present a specific topic and/or their company to the members. Organize plan trips. Advertise conferences and retreats.

Organize the Day with an Engineer program and other activities for the members' improvement.


REACH
Rafael Luck

Duties:
Increase the interest for SHPE Purdue, both inside and outside Purdue University.

Plan high school visits within the United States and other countries.

Plan visits for high school students to Purdue University.

Offer fellowship to Graduate students.

To organize and prepare social and recreational activities for the members (such as BBQs, parties, Karaoke nights, among others) to socialize with the rest of the members and meet people with common goals and objectives.

To prepare any social gatherings planned for the members or small get-togethers with the companies.
