Why Sigma Kappa?

Sigma Kappa has been a thriving part of Purdue University since 1948. We are dedicated to bringing sisterhood to life for the classy, confident, genuine, intelligent women of Purdue. Some of our sisters share why they are glad they are part of the Mystic Bond:

join "From the moment I walked in the door, I could sense how genuine the girls were. They made me feel so comfortable and at home. I knew this was a place where I could be myself. Choosing Sigma Kappa was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I couldn't imagine living anywhere else with anyone else. My sisters have made my time at Purdue the best four years of my life."

"I chose Sigma Kappa because of the diversity I saw in all of the women here. Everyone I talked to was different, yet I could sense that there was sincere friendship here. It doesn't matter that we come from different backgrounds and have different interests and goals... The women here truly are one of a kind and I'm proud to call each of them my sister."

"I'll be honest, I never really considered myself the sorority girl type. At first, I thought I had made a terrible mistake by signing up for recruitment. I was so nervous. I felt like I had to impress all of the girls I met and come up with interesting things to say. I was beginning to think that this Greek thing just wasn't for me. Then I came to Sigma Kappa and it completely changed my mind. I felt so welcomed. I didn't feel like I was putting up a front to impress the girls here because I could already sense that they were happy to have me here... It was like we were already friends. That's why choosing Sigma Kappa was so easy. I ranked it number one all week because I knew I belonged here."
