Social Activities

Football

The fall semester is packed full of social events. Every football season we are paired with a fraternity. We sit together as a block. We love to dress up in our black and gold to support our Boilermakers. We're also friends with Purdue Pete now! Football season at Purdue is lots of fun. We have functions with our football buddies every other week and tailgate together before every home game.

Dances

Wherever you find a Sigma Kappa, you're sure to find people having fun! Whether we're breaking out our cowgirl or semi-formal attire for Barn Dance or Violet Cruise (held every fall) or dancing the night away at our annual Crush Dance (held in February), we're always having a good time together.

We have a lot of fun things planned for Bid Night and can't wait to welcome home our new pledge class! And we're fired up for our annual New Member Dance, where the new members choose the theme. Last year they chose a semi-formal. In the past, we have had themes like Old School and Celebrity Couples. But no matter what the theme is, it's always a blast when the Sig Kaps hit the dance floor together.

Functions

On top of all that, we're always having functions with other fraternities and sororities. We've had toga functions, movie nights, Varsity Glee Club serenades, costume parties, and themed functions just to name a few (Party like a Rockstar was the theme in this pic!). We also have a Spontaneous each semester, which you don't find out about until the day of. It's always lots of fun running out to find a date and the perfect outfit to go with the theme.

Sisterhood

There are also sisterhood retreats, where we set aside time just to bond with one another. We've done lots of things like scavenger hunts around campus, making a memory scrapbook, and going to a local nursing home to deliver Valentine's to residents there.And we always enjoy hanging out on the side porch, especially when the slip-n-slide is going!

Grand Prix

Of course, we can't forget about Grand Prix, the annual go-kart race. We are paired with another fraternity for Grand Prix and hold buddy functions and activities throughout the entire week. It's a great way to end the school year!

Intramurals

Finally, if you're into sports, we have a long list of intramurals that we participate in. From flag football to softball, there are plenty of activities to get involved in. And if you're not athletically inclined, our teams are always happy to have sisters cheering for them on the sidelines!
