Yeah, Perelandra suffers from "Lewis had an axe to grind" by really pounding on the Christian message as he saw it. It isn't as good a story as OOTSP. I haven't re-read the third book in the trilogy and might never do that. I have too many good books to read.
Thanks for the reply.

I did not like Perelandra, which is the only book I read of that series. I am not that big a fan of Lewis' fiction; I guess that is a strike against me. He does have some good stuff in his non-fiction works. Thanks for commenting on my blog and your blog will be added to my blog roll.

I usually also prefer the books to the movies, but usually this is because I read the book before I saw the movie. As a result of that order, the movies rarely measure up to my mind's images that were created during the reading process. Also Hollywood plays pretty loose with storylines, character development and regularly totally misses the humor in the text. Many times this is because the movie producers think they are better judges of what people want in a movie.

I went to the doctor yesterday. My blood pressure, which is normally in the 118/70 range, was 145/85. Doctor thinks it might be due to a combination of the medications I was taking up to last Sunday and the medication I've been taking for years. He took me off of that and told me not to take anything that could be a stimulant and see how I feel at the end of the week. He also had an EKG done which didn't show anything abnormal.

It turns out that the problem wasn't what I thought it was. For some as yet undetermined reason domain name resolution on the Mac on my desktop stopped working for at least one specific domain over the weekend. I have a work around, but would really like to figure out what the real problem is and fix that.

Turns out array values in ksh don't survive a source operation. I.e.

. ./setup.sh

if setup.sh declares and array and sets values in it, all but the first one disappear. At least that's the way it looks to me.
