Movies, Skeptical

  • The Ten Steps. 2004. Writer/Director Brendan Muldowney, Jill Harding, William O'Sullivan. Hopefully, we can show this for a Skeptics movie night.
  • Catch Me If You Can. 2002. Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Hanks, Christopher Walken
  • Contact. 1997. David Morse, Jodie Foster, William Fichtner
  • The God Who Wasn't There: 2005 (imdb.com link) Writen and Directed by Brian Flemming
  • Jesus Camp. 2006. Documentary. Becky Fischer as herself, Ted Haggard as himself, commentator Mike Papantonio. Very controversial. On imdb.com, somebody calls the movie, "Intolerance Camp."
  • Leap of Faith. 1992. Steve Martin, Debra Winger, Liam Neeson
  • Paper Moon. 1973. Ryan O'Neal, Tatum O'Neal, Madeline Kahn. I can't find this movie rental yet, but I've heard it's like "Leap of Faith." There was also a "Paper Moon" tv series for one season.
  • Saved. 2004. Jena Malone, Mandy Moore, Macaulay Culkin
  • Zeitgeist: The Movie Part 1. 2007. (imdb.com link) Writen and Directed by Peter Joseph. Watch the first 41 or 42 minutes. I don't want to say much about parts 2 and 3, the more paranoid parts. I think that if there were bombs in the World Trade Center in part 2, then Taliban agents put them there. That is, if there were bombs. August 21, 2008: Feds Say They've Solved 9/11 Mystery.
  • The 2004 William Lane Craig and Austin Dacy debate, "Is There a God?" I want to get this copied from VHS to digital in September or so.

The Infidel Guy Show

Comics/Illustrated

  • Freethunk has comedy, Freethinker comics, and Freethinker games.
  • Snuff Film Lens Cap was introduced to me because it was made by friends of my English 419 Professor. It uses artificial intelligence and Macromedia Flash illustrations to make hilarious almost-schizophrenic stories. They sometimes make fun of religion with quotes like, "There should be a movie called The Passion Of The Buddha." It may offend some people, so don't go to the page if you're worried you might be offended.
  • The Brick Testament is a little bit like The Skeptics Annotated Bible. My favorite part of The Brick Testament is that, "YHWH will give you hemorrhoids, other symptoms, and you will find no cure." Say that with a straight face.
  • Hinduism on about.com sort-of debunks that Hindus have many Gods. That fundamentalist Christian web site he’s linking to with animated comics doesn't exist anymore, but some of the pictures are here. It’s with some weird stuff about Hindus, and very incorrect information about Atheists, and dinosaurs on Noah's ark. When the Christian Fundamentalist web site still existed, an animated Professor Giraffenstein said that dinosaurs where on Noah's ark. If Jesus said, “Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword,” then how come you believe that Jesus loves you, Habu, others, and is the Prince of Peace?
  • This Zippy comic
  • The Cectic Archive: A cartoon about Life, Science, Skepticism, and Religion
