Information

Practice:

The Purdue Swim Club stimulates and gathers people together for a social and competitive environment for swimmers at Purdue University, establishes competitive means, and aids in the continuing fitness of swimming. Practices are as difficult as you make them. Experienced swimmers create the practice based upon the current needs of swimmers. These practices can be followed as a group, or altered for your own experience. Practice is casual, and may recommend equipment to be used such as kickboards, or pull-buoys. This equipment is provided by Purdue for use in there facility for you to use.

Game Night:

Usually every Thursday is game night where we play games such as; Marco-Polo, sharks and minnows, rock/rabbit/raccoon, and team relays. All games are easy to learn, and all members are encouraged to join.

Swim Meets:

This semester, we are planning to have many exciting competitions. We will be traveling to different Universities to compete in meets. Please check our calendar for dates and locations. Members are not required to attend any practices prior to swim meets, although it is encouraged.

Requirements:

Due to the fact we are not yet an official Purdue sponsored club, new members to the Swim Club will cost $75 per semester due to rental of Purdue aquatic space, travel expenses, and swim meet entry fees. All members will receive a t-shirt. Members are not required to attend any practices or swim meets. You are however, required to attend a team meeting held annually where next year’s officers will be chosen.
