We offer community service opportunities to further the aims of the Timmy Foundation domestically, but the success of our international work begins locally as well. This involves fundraising and collecting donations to support our partner organization abroad. Below is a list of community service, fundraising, and donation events that we engage in. Community Service
The Trinity Nursing Center was created as partnership between the community and the Purdue School of Nursing. Since opening its doors on April 30, 2006, The center has expanded beyond just infants to children 0-18 years of age, and the services they provide include prenatal counseling, developmental assessments, laboratory tests, and illness diagnosis and treatment. They also offer free smoking cessation to parents and will be implementing a free children’s vaccination program soon. Timmy volunteers have helped with painting and renovating the center, and we have now initiated a program in which volunteers read to at-risk children in the area. Please contact Ben Winski for volunteering details and carpool information.

Fundraising/Donations

Payless Supermarket Extravaganza
This event has traditionally been a tremendous success and was our major source of hygiene donations for the 2009 Ecuador trip. How it works: We pass out flyers in one-hour shifts outside of the Payless Supermarket on 52. Customers enter the store and purchase anything they would like to donate to us and drop them off upon exiting. This year, we received generous donations from Payless customers; our office is FILLED with Payless bags full of donations! -
Trick-or-Treating for Timmy
Trick-or-treating takes a twist for Timmy. Instead of asking for candy, we trick-or-treat for hygiene supplies and over-the-counter medicine. This event involves dropping off collection bags and flyers in local neighborhoods. To give residents time to sort through their donations, we give them one week before we return to collect the bags. Of course, volunteers are more than welcomed to dress up for this event. This year, we received bags filled with donations from several homes in the West Lafayette area!
