What is the Timmy Foundation?
The Timmy Foundation began in 1997 through the efforts of Dr. Chuck Dietzen. The organization was founded to give children around the world an opportunity to have a healthy future. This mission is accomplished through routine medical as well as construction trips to developing areas in Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, and Guatemala. A key difference in the Timmy Foundation is that it is an organization that supports local organizations in developing nations that need help accomplishing their goals. This allows the foundation and its members to build a lasting relationship with the people of the countries that they serve. In addition, the Timmy Foundation also serves as a mentoring experience to students interested in a variety of fields, including healthcare, socioeconomics, and management. More information about the organization and its partners can be found at www.timmyfoundation.org.
Purdue's Timmy Foundation Club
Purdue's Timmy Foundation Club is a local chapter of the Timmy Foundation. The club serves as an extension of the national organization. More importantly, the club allows easy access to become involved with the aspirations of the Timmy Foundation. Purdue's chapter was founded in 2004, and while it is still in its early stages, it is growing quickly. The club operates on four pillars, which are provided here.
