Purdue's Timmy Foundation now offers two types of service trips!
International Medical Service Trips
The medical mission trip assigned to the club each year is a major focus of the organization. A great amount of effort throughout the year is dedicated to collecting the money, medication, and hygiene items necessary to serve the people in need. An equal amount of work is required to bring together a talented team of physicians, nurses, pharmacists, dentists, and others required to provide quality care. The Purdue Timmy Foundation Club has been assigned with Ecuador for all future trips in maintaining the hope of providing continuous healthcare for those who seek it.
About the Trips
The trips are the perfect balance of vacation and honest hard work. The combination of these two aspects creates an eye-opening and often life changing experience for anyone who is able to participate. On weekdays, the students, nurses, pharmacists and physicians travel to remote areas in developing nations to set up a free, temporary clinic for the day. Throughout the week, a medical team will commonly see upwards of 1000 people. After the workday is over, it is time to experience the culture of the host country, relax with fellow teammates, and reflect upon the day's activities. Weekends are used for traveling or touring the country.
