Current Research Projects and Opportunities

I am currently involved in a variety of research projects (see list below). Some are still in the early, initial stage and some are further extensions of previous work that I have done. As you can see most of my research broadly focuses on interpersonal communication and behavior. In examining these issues, I employ a variety of research methods, ranging from surveys and questionnaires to situational manipulations and reaction time tasks. Students working in my lab will certainly have the opportunity to gain experience with these methods at various stages of the research process. I also want to emphasize that I value the input that research assistants can bring to this process. Also please donÕt worry about what you donÕt know about working on a research project Š you will be fully trained on all aspects of any particular experiment. Most importantly, students should be motivated and enthusiastic about conducting research.

If you are interested in becoming involved in my lab, either as an undergraduate or graduate research assistant, please contact me (tyler@purdue.edu), and we can set up a time to discuss your interest. Or for undergraduates, if you prefer, you can download a Research Assistant's application form and drop it off at my office (Beering 2266).
