Known is a drop, Unknown is an ocean
Design by JeremyD
Here, I have put up some of my academic stuff(all of which were done during my undergraduate studies at IIT Madras).
Senior Year Project
For my B.Tech Project, I worked on Computation of Reacting and Non-Reacting Hypersonic flows past a thin airfoil using Method of Characteristics. The advisors for my B.Tech project were Mr.S.C.Rajan and Dr.T.M.Muruganandam . Download the final presentation here. Download the thesis here.

Vortex Roll-up
During Summer 2005, I began working with my B.Tech project advisor Mr.S.C.Rajan. I worked on vortex blobs and simulation of viscous low speed flow past a flat plat at zero angle of attack. As a pre-requisite, I had to simulate roll-up of vortex sheet behind a translating flat plate using vortex blobs. The image shown below is the vortex sheet as it begins to roll up.
Advanced Aerodynamics
This was a follow up course for the Aerodynamics course and dealt with Vortex Dynamics, high subsonic Mach No. flows, supersonic flows and a bit about transonic flows. The Course Project involved solving ideal fluid flow past a delta wing-slender body combination using vortex panel methods. During the course of the project I had to solve flow past a flat plate at an angle of attack, flow past a cylinder, cross flow past a flat plate to reach the final goal of flow past a delta wing-slender body combination. The report can be downloaded here.
Design Project I - Aerodynamic Design
This was a course I attended during the 6th semester of the B.Tech programme. It involved complete "on paper design" of a commercial jet transport aircraft with the following specifications : No.of passengers = 200, Gross Still Air Range = 9000 km, Cruise Mach No = 0.85, Cruise altitude = 11 km. We worked in groups of three and the final report can be downloaded here (The title page says "Fuselage and tail design", which is an error. The file contains the whole report).
