Yes, study abroad courses do come at some expense.
But one advantage of the FU-BEST program is that a high proportion of student expenses are fixed, which helps to lessen the uncertainty about what the semester will ultimately cost.
FU-BEST charges tuition of 3000 Euros. Housing and two meals per day (breakfast and dinner) are covered through a unique home stay option which in spring 2009 will run 3200 Euros.
At present exchange rates, 6200 Euros amounts to roughly $9,300. But the dollar may well increase in value against the Euro in the coming months.
