In the spring of 2009, Dr. Gray will be offering courses that take advantage of Berlin's unique location.
One course, available only to Purdue participants, will be History 492G:
"Communism in Germany: The East German Dictatorship, 1945-1990"
How and why did Germany divide in two during the Cold War? What was life like behind the Berlin Wall? Why exactly did the regime collapse so suddenly in 1989-90? This course will feature a variety of readings and visits to distinctive Berlin neighborhoods.
