About Me
This site is dedicated to my favorite pastime and hobby, amateur astronomy. I've loved astronomy ever since I was little boy. But it wasn't until I became an adult that I could really start to explore the hobby I so love. Starting off I purchased a 4.5 inch reflector, nothing fancy one of those department store models. But it was just right to get me started, it taught me how to properly use a telescope and the proper expectations. People buy telescopes expecting to see objects as they are depicted on the box. I believe many people get disappointed after buying a telescope and then not being able to see those really great looking objects that marketers are so good at displaying. Now when people talk to me about buying a telescope I'm able to provide them with advice to help set their expectations on what they will see. After learning on my little 4.5 inch for about an year I purchased a Meade 10 inch StarFinder and is the scope I use to date. Optically I find this to be a very nice scope. The mount that came with it is lacking and I hope to some day upgrade to something better. Over time I've made modifications to the telescope improving upon it and it's operation. Around 1998 I built the CookBook CCD camera and began experimenting with astrophotography. On this site you will find images I have made with my CookBook camera. You will also find pictures of my telescope and the modifications I've made to it, you will also find pictures of my camera. I've tried to document the things I've done with pictures. I hope you find this site useful to you and worth while. Enjoy and please feel free to drop me an email.
