Here is Andy's new design for his filter wheels. As you can see they now have 6 holes for filters than the original 4. Also the whole case design is completely different. If your interested in seeing the previous design check out this link to Chuck Shaw's web site.
Here I am trying to show how Andy has made it easier to mount the filters into the wheel. There is a little lip on both sides of a hole that hold filters in place. From what I have read and understand from the CCD listserv the previous version of the wheel had no easy way to hold filters in place and people came up with ingenious ways to hold them in place.
Here is another picture from a different angle and closer that shows the inside of one of the holes in the wheel.
Here you can see how to place filters into the wheel. There are two small screws to remove and then one side of the wheel comes off. You can then place the filters into the holes and then replace the removed side. Makes for easy insertion and holding of ones filters.
Here is a picture of the wheel attached to my camera. The wheel now screws into the same place as the T-adapter. For me this doesn't work so well as the wheel hits the screws that hold the metal box cover on. I may have to look for some adapter that would extend out and then attach the wheel to that.
Here is a front side shot of the camera and filter wheel.
Here is a shot of the camera and filter wheel mounted on the telescope.
