Abelardo is a senior from Hermiston, OR in Aviation Flight Technology with minors in Spanish and Organizational Leadership and Supervision. He became part of ALPFA after being approached by his friend Yuri who seemed to have the passion and desire to start this professional organization at Purdue. Abelardo is also actively involved with the Latino Cultural Center's Embajadores as well as the American Cancer Society’s Colleges Against Cancer and is currently employed by Purdue University’s flight department. His ultimate goal is to one day become a senior captain with one of the world’s largest airlines flying all over the world and becoming a role model for young Latinos going through similar struggles he himself has had to endure.  Through ALPFA he hopes to showcase the importance of professionalism and networking among his members and the Purdue student community.
