Traditions
Our
Phi Beta
Chi National Sorority was established to support women socially, spiritually
and academically during their collegiate years and throughout their
lives. The ideals of Phi Beta Chi are contained in the Creed of Phi Beta
Chi that we proudly and publicly display for all potential members, their
families and their friends. As a sisterhood, we all stand for and support
the Ideals of the Creed of Phi Beta Chi.
Phi
Beta Chi Creed
We the
sisters of Phi Beta Chi shall strive to be faithful and energetic Christian
leaders and shall celebrate the Lutheran Heritage. We stand for good
scholarship, for the guarding of good health, for the maintenance of fine
standards, for service to Church and Humanity and for the attainment of
excellence in all our endeavors. In all of our activities, we shall
strive to be living symbols of the Rose of Sharon, and shall use Love through
Life in Christ as the ideal which shall guide our lives. For I am the
Rose of Sharon, the Lily of the Field.
Our
Rituals and Traditions
Rituals
are what hold our sisterhood together. Our rituals explain the traditions
of Phi Beta Chi and the meanings behind those traditions. Our ceremonies
allow us to bring new sisters into our fold, say goodbye to graduating members
and empower our officers to lead us in accordance with our ideals. All of
these events strengthen our sisterhood and bind us together as sisters and
friends.
There are four national ceremonies that we
celebrate as necessary:
·
Officer
Installation: Beginning of Spring semester
·
Induction:
After the recruitment process, starts the Associate Member Education
·
Activation:
Towards the end of the semester, ends the Associate Member Education
·
Alumnae:
Towards the end of the semester, to celebrate our graduating seniors
