U.S. Potato Production Statistics

In the U.S. about one-third of the crop is marketed as table stock (fresh market) and one third is frozen (french fries). Potato chips, dehydrated flakes and canned potatoes account for 12%, 8% and 1% of the total crop, respectively. Small amounts are used for alcohol production, starch and animal feed. About 5% is maintained for seed.

Production of fall potatoes has increased steadily over the last decade in the U.S.
