Gründungseuphorie

This terms refers to the enthusiasm over museum building and museum attending in Germany since the 60s. As Charles Maier explains, "West Germans have been in the forefront of museum enthusiasm. Over 50 million visitors traipsed through the country's museums in 1981, an average of about one visit per person. Two hundred twenty-seven new museums opened in the 1960s, almost 300 in the 1970s, and the 1980s have witnessed what has been termed a euphoria of museum organization (Gründungseuphorie)" (The Unmasterable Past 123).
