Competitive strategy is about being different. It means deliberately
choosing a different set of activities to deliver a unique mix of values

-Michael Porter

A number of my goals align closely with ones set out by the ACS Board of Directors in the new ACS Strategic Plan. It is important to build on the society strategic goals and institutionalize those that show benefit by measured outcomes. It is my goal to bring value, which can be measured, and growth which can be seen, to the Society and to members of the chemical community.
