Habitat

About Habitat

Hammer Habitat for Humanity International is a nonprofit organization that seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world. The Purdue University chapter is a student run organization that provides students with the opportunity to get involved with this cause.

Our H4H chapter is one of the largest student-run organizations on campus. We provide our members with several opportunities to get involved and make a difference. We arrange weekend trips every Saturday to sites in the local area, weeklong trips over spring break around the nation, and also have numerous fundraising & Social events throughout the year.

Our Mission

Purdue University Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit Christian housing organization. By partnering with low-income families to build simple, decent homes, Habitat works toward its goal of eliminating poverty housing. Purdue Habitat for Humanity works with Habitat for Humanity of Lafayette and with other local Habitats to construct homes in the area. During spring break, Purdue Habitat sponsors trips to work camps in other regions of the country. In addition, Purdue Habitat raises money for new construction projects and strives to educate the Purdue/Lafayette community about the problem of poverty housing in the United States and around the world.

Service opportunities at Purdue University
