Physical Plant Golf
Association
Come join us for a summer of league golfing.
What: The PPGA is a golf league of individual (rather than team) competition. Handicaps are generated using your weekly scores and are used to determine points that are awarded each week. At the end of the season, trophies are awarded for most total points, lowest scoring average, best sportsmanship, and most putting points. Three tournaments are sponsored throughout the season.
Who: Anyone employed by, or retired from Purdue can join, as well as persons affiliated with contractors or vendors doing business with Purdue.
Where: Weekly league play is nine holes at a designated Purdue course. Tournament sites vary.
When: The season lasts for 20-21 weeks, starting in early April and ending in late August. Golfers are encouraged to play on Wednesday afternoons. Scoring is posted via the Web.
Cost: The cost to join the league is $10 if paid before April 27th. After that date, dues will be $15. You pay your own greens fees and cart fees, although many players walk. Be sure to mention you are playing on league when you sign in. Members who sign up new players will receive a $5 rebate at the end of the season. Make sure the new player mentions your name as a referral.
Pairings: Players set up their own tee times and arrange their own groups.
