Course Synopsis

EDCI 62700 is a course in current topics in learning design and technology. This version of the course focuses specifically on PBL in the Math/Science Classroom. Problem-based Learning in the Science and Math Classroom uses a project-based approach to introduce problem-based learning as a pedagogical approach to facilitate students’ learning of STEM content in the classroom. Students in EDCI 62700 engage in authentic problem- and project-based learning activities to facilitate their growing understanding of how to plan, implement, and evaluate a PBL unit in their own classrooms.

The course is designed to address the needs of students in Purdue's STEM Goes Rural program as well as other graduate students interested in the application of problem- or project-based learning in STEM education. Students who are not fellows in the STEM Goes Rural program but are interested in enrolling in the course should contact the course instructor, Dr. Lehman.
