Lab Station

Announcements

5/12/20—Lab 1 updated to remove “hard copy” submission. I rebooted the lab station this morning...gave a few extra hours to submit

5/9/20—Lab 1 zip file is posted. Also, my webpages are having formatting trouble, but the links still work.

5/9/20—I’m updating Lab 1 for Extra Credit. This is still not required, but can be completed for extra credit toward your final grade.

5/4/20—Final Exam will be a take-home final. You must work on your own. It will be posted on May 7th at noon and must be turned in by May 8th at noon.

5/1/20—OK, it’s too late for Lab 1. It is not feasible to rotate people through, so it will become optional. Final lecture on Statecharts & UML is posting.

4/22/20—Updated the slides for Software Engineering and posted HW5. Lab 1 is still due, but the hardware has been fixed and lab updated.

4/4/20—Noticed one of the lectures might have been invisible. Also, posted a set of lecture notes on caches that was missing from the website. Fixing technical problem with exam.

3/31/20—Skype and WebEx coordinates are posted on the Syllabus—call my cell (651-285-1079) if you are trying to connect for office hours and I’m not there.

3/31/20—Exam is on its way. You will have time to review your HW4 and complete the exam on its own. I’m also posting a quiz on BlackBoard. The exam will be at a time of your own choosing this week. (Have yet to post the Lab 1 instructions and code.)

3/30/20—Some technical difficulties with the lab set-up for remote control. We have remote control of the power supply. Make sure the power supply is off when you are done. See Assignments page for instructions.

3/26/20—For Lab 1, you should have access to login to 128.46.157.172 by remote desktop using your ECN domain. You do not need to install the Xilinx software. It is already installed on the remote machine. I will provide a zipped file for download to your workspace.

3/26/20—I will make periodic updates to the YouTube channel and to the lecture notes. HW4 upload on BlackBoard is now available.

3/24/20—The Lecture Notes page has a link to the Dr. RoboDude YouTube Channel at https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCpnuq-78YpPllY7y54zW12A

3/23/20—To clarify, I’m also working on lecture snippets to post, so it will not be necessary to watch interactively, at 8:30 am. The mid-term will be after HW4 is graded.

3/12/20—Office hours will remain at the same time, but we can skype or WebEx if needed. I expect I will physically be in the office most days, as well. I am working on a plan for lab.

3/11/20—Lectures will be live, online, after Spring Break. Mid-Term is planned for March 25.

2/22/20—HW3 and Project Proposal due this week

2/18/20—Ooops! But I never posted HW3. I have changed the due date.

2/11/20—Have broken the 5th problem out of HW2 into HW3.

2/4/20—Meet tomorrow at 8:30 am in B037.

1/28/20—Meet tomorrow at 8:30 am in B037.

1/21/20—Class on Wednesday (Jan 22) from 8:30—10:20 am in Potter B037. Later will move to 8:00—10:30 am, but ignore that for Wed Jan 22. Also, Robotics Seminar Wed at 10:30.

1/14/20—Webpage updated

1/14/20—Considering moving class to Wed 8:30—11:00, eliminating the Tuesday session.
