CRL Tools: Webpage Edits

Maintaining the RoSeHUB webpage

Maintaining the RoSeHUB webpage is available to Prof. Voyles and several Robos at this time, but the general approach, with the site maintained on the Primary Purdue Web Cluster (PPWC) provided by ITaP, is:

  • Use some secure FTP client, such as WinSCP or equivalent.
  • Using your CAREER login, connect to SFTP Server: ldvwebapa02.www.purdue.edu. (enter this as the host to WinSCP)
  • Login and Navigate to Directory: /var/www/html/root/www.purdue.edu/rosehub/
  • Copy files to this site with your FTP client. Any changes to this repository will only appear at dev.www.purdue.edu/rosehub/
  • ITaP provides a Deploy Tool to migrate changes to the production site. Go to https://deploy.itap.purdue.edu
  • Login to the Deploy Tool using your CAREER account and you will have access to all websites to which you have permission.
  • Choosing qa.www.purdue.edu/rosehub will deploy changes from Development to the QA URL. Do this first.
  • Choosing www.purdue.edu/rosehub will deploy changes from QA to the live URL. Do this after QA deployment.

If any new.www.purdue sites appear in the deploy list, use those. They should disappear after a few days.

Maintaining the Purdue Robotics Accelerator website

Same as above but select /var/www/html/root/www.purdue.edu/robotics/

This should also re-direct robotics.purdue.edu to www.purdue.edu/robotics

Maintaining the Collaborative Robotics Lab website

The CRL site is still on the old server, ldvwebapa01. Same as above but select /var/www/html/root/crl/

Maintaining the CRL YouTube channel

We seem to have lost control of this....

The Future of PPWC

If there are features you find you are missing on the current PPWC, we could accelerate your migration to the new environment, described here: https://www.purdue.edu/itap/webservices/services/apache/ppwc-2017-edition/

The new server is ldvwebapa02.www.purdue.edu and it is online for RoSeHUB and Robotics. CRL migration is still in transition, so use the old server.
