Committees

Purdue University ACM SIGGRAPH Chapter is comprised of an Executive Board, which is supported by several smaller committees. A description of each is below.

Executive Board

The Executive Board includes the President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. These positions form the basic backbone of the organization, overseeing the operations within the committees and meetings carried out by the organization as a whole. They are also responsible for running the board meetings and planning the overall goals and objectives the organization wants to accomplish.

Networking Committee

The Networking Committee advocates to help build and maintain positive relationships with the public (alumni, industry, and community). Our function is to arrange and conduct programs to maintain contact between SIGGRAPH and the public. This is accomplished by sustaining communication with alumni and industry professionals. We also plan and run SIGGRAPH’s defining event – the Annual Spring Show and Banquet. This major event is one of the most significant graphics and technology affairs in the region.

Programs/Events Committee

The Programs Committee organizes member meetings, demonstrations, and presentations. One of our main tasks is to find and schedule speakers to visit Purdue and present to SIGGRAPH members. The team is responsible for bringing in anyone who can make a compelling session relevant to computer graphics. We also work with the Networking Committee to plan the Annual Spring Show and Banquet.

Third Floor Store

The goal of the Third Floor Store is to provide students office supplies and food needs at a discounted price in a convenient location. We will continue to serve students with a broader range of items to purchase. For your school and stomach needs, from folders to food – check out the Third Floor Store.

Marketing Committee

The Marketing Committee is responsible for supporting and withholding the unique image that SIGGRAPH wishes to create for Purdue. When Purdue University ACM SIGGRAPH Chapter is planning an event and this committee designs and distributes advertising materials using a variety media (ranging from flyers to listserv announcements).

Web Team

You are looking at what we do... the SIGGRAPH web site. We manage one of the public faces of Purdue University ACM SIGGRAPH Chapter. We work closely with all the other committees to publicize the details of our student chapter.
