Janice's advice for phys students Taking Summer Courses
Away from the Purdue West Lafayette Campus
The following information is for students who want to take courses at institutions
not affiliated with Purdue or at one of Purdue's regional campuses.
Taking Courses at Institutions
not Affiliated with Purdue
Students who are considering taking a course at another college, university
or institution this summer should consult the
Purdue Transfer Credit Database to ensure that the credit will transfer
to Purdue directly. When selecting a course, it is important that the credit
transfers directly. For example, a Calculus II course that transfers as MA 162
or MA 166 can be used to satisfy the Calculus II requirement on your Physics
Plan of Study. A Calculus II course that transfers as MA 1xxxx cannot be
used to satisfy the Calculus II requirement.
Results Notes : please contact transfercredit@purdue.edu for domestic transcripts or intl-transfercredit@purdue.edu for international transcripts.
Important
things to remember about transfer credit from other institutions
* The credit will transfer but not the grade. A C- or higher is required for
the credit to transfer.
* If the same course has already been taken at Purdue, the credit will not replace the grade in grade point average calculations. However, the credit can be used to satisfy degree requirements.
* The student will need to have the college, university or institution send
the transcript Purdue Office of Admissions:
a) Check with your university's registrar or records office about sending official transcripts to Purdue electronically (Parchment/Avow or National Student Clearinghouse, for example). Use admissions@purdue.edu for electronic transcript services that require a recipient email address.
b) or mail official paper transcripts to
