Distance Learning Courses

Course and Registration Information:

•  The list below indicates if a Purdue-based section (classroom or distance) is available.  If there is space in a Purdue-based distance section, students must register for that rather than ICN.

•  If a course is not listed there, it is because 1) there are ample spaces available in the Purdue-based distance section or 2) the previous demand was too low.

•  If a student has a hold on his account, we cannot register until this is resolved.

•  If the ICN course puts the student over the maximum credit hours (even if drops have occurred), we cannot register until someone in your advising office increases the credit hours.

•  If the student wishes to drop the course, they must bring a form 23, completed and signed by you, to our office.

•  Grades will be posted in August unless the course is open-enrollment.

•  The ICN courses are no longer posted on the Schedule of Classes.  We will soon have this list posted on our website:  www.distance.purdue.edu

Learning Center Information:

•  Effective March 22, we will take walk-ins from 8 – 10 am; appointments from 10 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.  We are closed every day from 12 noon – 1:00 pm.

•  Students can call 494-8619 to set up an appointment.

•  Students must have a Form 23 fully completed by you.  You as the advisor must provide the course number and name (you do not need the CRN).  It is very helpful if you provide options in case a course is full or we encounter override issues.

•  We follow the same dates, deadlines, policies and regulations as the rest of the University.

•  We will now be open on Tuesday mornings; we will open at 10 am on Wednesday mornings.

Fee and Payment Information:

•  There is no longer a waiver for out-of-state or international fees.  This is a University-wide policy for all distance courses.  Students will be assessed fees based on their residence, just like fall and spring.

•  Summer ICN courses require pre-payment.  Before we can register a student they must pay a “deposit” to the Bursar following these procedures:

•  Students can log into the tuition and fee calculator to determine an estimate of their payment:   www.purdue.edu/bursar/Calculator/2010-2011.html

•  Log into Touchnet via myPurdue and make a payment using credit card OR

•  Make a check payment at the Bursar's office in Hovde.

•  Students must bring us a receipt of payment and we can then register them for the class.
