Intended for anyone with an interest in insects and related arthropods as they appear in written materials.

•  PHYS 29000 –Service Learning Outreach – 1-3 credits

This course is intended for students who are enthusiastic about science, or who might like to try their hand at science teaching.  The course is restricted to Physics and teaching majors.  On campus demos and travel to local schools.  32 contact hours required for each credit.  Contact Keith Adams for more information, ktadams@purdue.edu   , 494-0740.

 

•  EAS 19100- Service Learning Outreach  - 1 - 3  credits

The course is intended for students who might like to be involved in science teaching but is open to all who value service learning, science, and education. Course meets weekly. Contact Steve Smith ( mrsmith@purdue.edu ) for more information.

 

•  BAND 12000- Applied Music Studies – 1 credit

8 lessons.  Can be taken for 1 credit or no credit, depending on number of lessons.  Cost is $280 for the 8 one-hour lessons, plus a $60 student activity fee (unless the student is already a band member).  Contact Andrew King ( king6@purdue.edu   )for more information.

 

•  SCI 13000 – Teambuilding And Collaboration- 1 credit

Teaming principles; required for all New Core Science majors if not met in some other way.

 

•  Independent Study Courses - Undergraduate Library, Circulation Desk.

These courses do not count for financial aid purposes because the credit hours are established by examination.  Any consideration for independent study courses must go through the appeals procedure.  When in doubt, have the student check with a Financial Aid counselor.

 

•  Distance Education Courses with Open Enrollment – Credits Vary

Distance education courses are either taught online or through correspondence by US Postal Mail.  There isn't a classroom for these courses.  These are self-taught and should be attempted by highly motivated students only.  Please see your advisor for more information.  See https://www.continuinged.purdue.edu/distance/students/   for courses.  Advisors must specify that student needs to be full-time to enroll in open enrollment courses.  Open enrollment begins August 17 and closes September 20.  Extenuating circumstances for open enrollment only, September 21 to October 27.
