SCHOLARSHIPS FOR PHYSICS STUDENTS FOR THE 2023-24 ACADEMIC YEAR | Deadline: Feb 1, 2023

Did you know that several scholarships are awarded each year to Physics majors?  

To be eligible you need to be a full-time student next year (2023-24), maintaining good academic standing (not on probation) and be pursuing a Physics-BS major in the Dept. of Physics and Astronomy (check pool of scholarships available in our department). In order to be considered for all departmental scholarships you *must* apply via the College of Science Scholarship Application for continuing students.

1. Departmental Merit Scholarships (Krane, Pozner, Mieher, Belinfante)

Eligibility
Required – 3.5/4.0 cumulative GPA and enrolled in any Physics major offered by the department.
Preferred – Sophomore standing or higher during <Award Year>.
Selection Process – The Department Head (or designee) will select the recipient(s) based on academic merit, provided by input from the academic advisor and faculty.  Previous recipients may be considered for subsequent scholarships if they continue to meet the eligibility criteria.  
Award Terms and Conditions – The recipients must 1) enroll as a full-time student during the fall and spring semesters and 2) maintain a cumulative 3.5 GPA.

2. Shalim and Paul Sargis Memorial Scholarship

Eligibility
Required – non-Indiana residency, graduation from a U.S. high school, enrolled in any Physics major offered by the department, and demonstration of financial need as defined by the Division of Financial Aid
Selection Process – The Department Head (or designee) will select the recipient(s), based on input by the academic advisor and faculty.  Previous recipients may be considered for subsequent scholarships if they continue to meet the eligibility criteria.
Award Terms and Conditions – The recipients must enroll as a full-time student during the fall and spring semesters.

3. Margie and Don Bottorff Undergraduate Physics Scholarship

EligibilityRequired – 2.5/4.0 cumulative GPA and enrolled in any Physics major offered by the department.
Preferred – Sophomore standing or higher during <Award Year>and demonstration of financial need as defined by the Division of Financial Aid.
Selection Process – The Department Head (or designee) will select the recipient(s), based on input provided by the academic advisor and faculty.  Previous recipients may be considered for subsequent scholarships if they continue to meet the eligibility criteria.
Award Terms and Conditions – The recipients must 1) enroll as a full-time student during the fall and spring semesters and 2) maintain a 2.5 overall GPA.
