Dr. Nitin Tiwari, Postdoc Fellow

ABOUT

    Dr. Nitin Tiwari is working as a Post Doctoral Fellow in Lyles School of Civil Engineering, Purdue University, USA. He obtained his Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology Indore, India and Master of Engineering in structural engineering from University Institute of Technology, Rajiv Gandhi Technical University Bhopal, India. He worked as an Assistant Professor at Truba Institute of Engineering and Information Technology Bhopal for a peried of Jan 2018 to Dec 2018 before joining IIT Indore for PhD. He is actively engaged in teaching and research in the field of Civil engineering, particularly in geotechnical engineering, pavement engineering. He is an expert in Machine learning and Artificial intelligence application in Civil Engineering.

    Dr. Tiwari received a research fellowship from the Ministry of Education for pursuing a Ph.D. He published 15+ papers in International/National Journals and Conferences. He has published 3 books on structural engineering. He is a member of several professional societies such as a Lifetime Member of the International Geosynthetic Society (IGS), a Lifetime Member of the Indian Geotechnical Society (IGS), Member of the International Association of Engineers (IAENG), Member of the American Concrete Institute (ACI), Member of National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), Member of The Institution of Structural Engineers. He was actively associated with the IGS Indore chapter in organizing short courses/workshops and was elected as EC member for 2021-2023 of the IGS Indore chapter. Dr. Tiwari is also an International member of AKG 80 Geosynthetic committee of the Transportation Research Board.

    The Indian Institute of Technology Indore recently conferred the Institution's best research paper award of Academic Year 2020-2021 to Dr. Tiwari for his multidimensional research on expansive soil stabilization using native bacteria. He was also conferred with the Young Scientist Award 2021 by the Madhya Pradesh Council of Science and Technology Bhopal. Dr. Tiwari’s recent research paper has been selected as an editorial choice paper 2020 for the International Journal of Geosynthetics and Ground Improvement.
