Welcome to the home page of Cary Troy.  I am an assistant professor in the Hydraulics and Hydrology Group in the School of Civil Engineering at Purdue University.  My research interests lie primarily in the field of environmental fluid mechanics, the study of fluid flows as they naturally occur in the environment.  Current research topics include:

·   Transport and circulation in Lake Michigan

·   Mixing and water quality in inland lakes

·   Autonomous Underwater Vehicle (AUV) mapping of water quality and bathymetry

·   Laboratory studies of stratified flows

·  Influence of hydrodynamics on the volatilization of inorganic compounds in swimming pools
