Shinelle Hutchinson

PhD Candidate

Shinelle Hutchinson is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Computer and Information Technology. Shinelle believes in making cyberspace safe for everyone, especially those who are vulnerable or less technologically aware. To help achieve a safer cyberspace, Shinelle spends her time working on identifying privacy and security concerns within some of the most popular mobile applications and technologies. Shinelle is a member of the ACM, an affiliated member of the Center for Education and Research in Information Assurance and Security (CERIAS), and a student affiliate at the Digital and Multimedia section of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS). Her research interests include Digital Forensics, Mobile Forensics, IoT Forensics, and User and Data Security and Privacy. During her free time, Shinelle enjoys taking walks in nature, doing Sudoku puzzles, and keeping abreast of new technologies.

Mohammad Mirza

PhD Candidate

Mirza received his B.S in Computer Science from Denver University in 2015 and his M.S in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota in 2016. He is currently working toward his Ph.D. in Technology at Purdue University. Mirza is a member of the ACM, an affiliated student member at the Center for Education and Research in Information Assurance and Security (CERIAS), and a student affiliate at the Digital and Multimedia section of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences (AAFS). His research interest includes cybersecurity, cyber forensics, security and forensics of geospatial data, geospatial intelligence (GEOINT), and open-source intelligence (OSINT).

Miloš Stanković

PhD Student

Miloš is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Computer & Information Technology at Purdue University, where he also received his M.S. in Cybersecurity. Miloš’ decision to return to academia after three years in the industry was to address the gaps found with existing technologies and in particular with the Internet of Things. His research interest and focus include Internet of Things Forensics, Low-power Networks, Network Forensics, Computer Forensics and Mobile Forensics.

Nina Matulis

MS Student

Nina Matulis is a Masters student in the Department of Computer and Information Technology with a focus in Cyberforensics. After receiving her B.S. in Forensic Science from Penn State University, she knew she wanted to further her study of forensic science within the context of computer technologies. Nina looks forward to pursuing several research interests within this field throughout her Masters program.

Joyce is a Masters student in the Department of Computer and Information Technology with a focus in Cyberforensics.

Bharath Vemula

MS Student

Bharath is a Masters student in the Department of Computer Science with a focus in systems. Prior to joining Purdue he served as senior software engineer at Goldman Sachs, he also had experience working as an early engineer at a startup. His interests include distributed systems and backend engineering for large scale software systems. He loves to talk regarding startups and financial technology. In his free time he enjoys chess and badminton.

Rwitam Bandyopadhyay

MS Student

Rwitam is a Masters student in the Department of Computer Science with a research focus in Systems and Security. After receiving his B.Tech in Computer Science & Engineering from India in 2017, he worked in the FinTech industry for about 4 years. Having gathered that experience, he decided to come back to academia for furthering his knowledge in the cybersecurity realm. During his free time, he enjoys playing his guitar.

Poorvi is a Masters student in Information Security. Poorvi is affiliated with WiCys and WomenTechmakers. Her current research focus includes Security and Forensics of wearable IOT devices. Areas of Interests –Vulnerability Analysis, Digital Forensics and Software Security.

Utsav Manandhar is working as a research assistant for the Scalable Multiphone Targeted Data Extraction System (SM-TDES) project sponsored by the National Institute of Justice. He is an international student from Nepal and currently pursuing a Mater's of Science Degree in the Department of Computer Graphics Technology.

Samuel Ho

MS Student

Samuel graduated with a B.S. in Cybersecurity and Minor in Forensic Science from Purdue University, WL in 2022. He is currently earning his M.S. in Cyber Forensics. His area of interest includes Cyber Forensics, Network Traffic Analysis, Internet of Things, and Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT). During his free time, he enjoys working on CTFs, reading, and playing volleyball.

Praveen received his B.S in Computer Science & Engineering from NIIT University, India in 2019. He is currently pursuing M.S. in Computer & Information Technology at Purdue University. His research interests include Information Security & Privacy, AI, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, and Data science. He has worked on numerous projects in the field of Computer Vision and Machine Learning in his B.S. and in the industry. Praveen looks forward to pursuing several research interests within these fields throughout his master’s program.
